Ground Beef Wellington

A simplified twist on the classic, using ground beef in a puff pastry shell. Elegant but easier and quicker to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon pepper, divided 1/2 cup half-and-half cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 (4 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
