Easy Lasagna
This classic beef lasagna recipe is easy to make and will be ready to eat in just over an hour.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
- 1 medium carrot, finely chopped (1/2 cup)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can no-salt-added tomato sauce
- 1 (6 ounce) can no-salt-added tomato paste
- ½ cup water
- 1 teaspoon dried italian seasoning, crushed
- ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 (15 ounce) container light ricotta cheese or low-fat cottage cheese, drained
- 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
- ¼ cup grated parmesan or romano cheese (1 ounce)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
